In order to find a right style of artwork & artist, I will need a sample of your work on one of my lines. Please send me an email if you'd like to work on a sample.

I'm interested in putting together an A4 15-page colouring book. I'm looking for blackline art in the colouring book style you've probably seen a thousand times before. The book will feature a line of text and then an accompanying illustration of a celebrity doing something ... normal. Ish.

Here are some of the possible pages:

Tom Cruise draws a smiley face on a banana.
Halfway through breakfast, Megan Fox suddenly remembers her teacher from grade three.
Kevin Costner makes a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich.
Angelina Jolie flicks an elastic band across the kitchen.
Tom Hanks butters a piece of toast.
Former President Bill Clinton runs out of milk.
Willem Dafoe’s pen runs out of ink during a crossword puzzle.
Steve Buscemi wonders whether he should buy a new toothbrush.
Jessica Biel considers pushing a stranger into a fountain.
Mike Myers kneads pizza dough.
Drew Barrymore tries to find where the ants are coming from.
Hailey Duff makes a list of differences between emus and ostriches.
Charlie Sheen cuts the tags off a t-shirt.
Christian Bale stirs a pot of potato, bacon and cheese soup.
Quentin Tarantino changes the batteries in his television remote.
James Gandolfini decides he doesn’t really want an apple.
Linsey Lohan runs out of ground cumin.
Tom Selleck decides to have a second pudding cup.
Robert de Niro thinks about Japan.
Jon Bon Jovi finds a peanut M&M under the sofa.
Kevin Bacon changes his pool filter.
Eric Bana places an order for takeaway dumplings.
Bill Nighy reads a brochure.
Edward Norton sticky tapes his broken Rock Band drumstick.
Uma Thurman folds a paper plane.
Scarlett Johansson makes cheesecake.
Natalie Portman changes a flat tyre.
Keira Knightly practises her signature.
Julia Roberts arranges her change into piles.
Johnny Depp can’t find the expiry date.
Meryl Streep rocks out on a tennis racket guitar.

I'm looking for 15 black and white and then 1 in colour for a front cover. The images need to fit A4. I'll be releasing the pages as individual downloads plus as an ebook online, torrents and possibly a printed version. Artist/illustrator receives credit. Feel free to bid for a single image or the whole project. If it ends up with multiple illustrators then credit will be on each page.

Link to any portfolios you want me to check out.

The celebrity should look like the celebrity also. :-)

If you bid for the entire project and win then images will be expected to be sent as they are completed.

Why am I doing this project? I want hilarious things to exist in the world and I think this will be funny.

cheers,

A gang of four outlaws have just robbed a bank and are fleeing across the dusty plains. They are being pursued by a Posse of deputies. Both groups of men are shooting at one another with rifles and revolvers. They are all distracted however by a huge triangular shaped UFO hovering over the outlaws. This is a black craft with beams shooting down from the three corners. The beams appear as fire trapped inside clear tubes. The one on the front is hitting the outlaw and his terrified horse who are closest to the reader. They are exploding into flames.
The leader of the gang has decided to create a diversion for the Posse by knocking one of his men from his horse with his rifle butt. The leader and remaining outlaw are enveloped in a beam coming down from the center of the ship. It is a purplish color, with white, sparking lightning filling it. The leader, his companion and their horses are being lifted into the air. For the sake of shadows, this is late morning. They are heading west. I would very much like to see the terrain they are riding through extend around the bottom of the spine and back cover. This should be as photo realistic as possible. In other words, it should appear to the reader, as though they are actually there watching this. No cartoon feeling to it.
I am a new novel writer with one novel self published, and have begun writing 'SCARDY CAT.' I am retired and disabled, so live on a low fixed budget from Soc. Sec. and St. Disability. Therefore, my budget is between $250.00 and $500.00. And I am seeking an illustrator who would work out a payment plan with me? This also would have to be royalty free. I would of course mention the artist prominently on the acknowledgment page. Further, I have no problem with the artist signing the bottom right corner, or using the illustration in their portfolio.
If this is interest t you, please contact me. There is no rush on the artwork itself, as the novel won't be completed until the end of 2010.
Sincerely,
Harrison Ray
I realize this is a very busy scene with a lot going on, but feel if rendered correctly, it could be a very eye catching, stand out cover.

BEACH THEMED BEDROOM - Mural Painting Freelance Job

I want to paint a mural of a beach in my daughters bedroom. When published, the book will be approximately 250 in pages in length and will have one (1) drawing per page.

Requirements:
* The drawings will be used to illustrate different one-line phrases about good business practices.

* The main character is tentatively named "Jesse" and represents an “average businessperson”. Jesse is unisex and must be iconic enough to be easily recognizable to the readers. Most of the panels will have Jesse in a variety of simple situations. Jesse must be able to convey emotion. Other characters and simple objects will occasionally be used in the panels depending on the message being communicated by the phrase.

* The drawing style I’m looking for is simple black-and-white figures. Stick figures or figures with very simple features and bodies are the idea here.

For the bidding, I will need you to submit one drawing of “Jesse” that captures the essence of the following phrase: "Being a good boss means seeing the diamonds in the rough". It is meant to convey the idea that everybody has strengths - even the "worst" employees.

The winning bid will be determined by not only the drawing but by the artist’s interpretation of the phrase. Think about effectively communicating the message. But at the same time, think simple.

This drawing will be included with the book proposal I am submitting to publishers. When accepted for publication, the 250 drawings will need to be completed by the deadline set by the publisher (TBD).

Regarding compensation, I would like to negotiate a percentage of the profits from book sales and merchandising with the artist. I realize this is a risk to you, but the rewards are potentially much greater. I have received exceptionally favorable feedback on the book’s manuscript from experts in my field, so I anticipate very good sales. However, if you are not open to the idea of an author/illustrator partnership, then please include your bid.

Good luck. I look forward to your submissions.

Dentist figurine - Sculpting Freelance Job

I am looking for artist who can express in figurine 3D the humor of relation of dentist, dental chair assistant and patient. I plan to submit the materials for publishing around February. There will be 8 or 9 pieces in all. Some of the illustrations will be photographs that I have taken, some will be paintings done by an artist friend of mine. Some pieces have a somber tone such as the poem "Cat Alone" which I dedicated to the memory of my lost cat. Some are mixed such as "School Cat" which is about our gray cat who came to the door of the school where I teach last fall and was desperate to get inside. My daughter and I adopted him. Another day, I wrote about how he jumped up on the couch and landed with all four feet in my pepperoni pizza. I'm still working out which scenes I would like to illustrate and what they might look like. I would also be open to clay (sculpey) illustrations for one piece. I think I would like to work with a few different illustrators, but need to stay within my budget. Since Xlibris is a self-publishing company and the retail cost will be high, I do not expect to sell a lot of copies, but you never know. I also plan to (if I show a profit on the book after the cost to illustrate and publish) then I will donate half of the profits to a charity called Alley Cat Allies.

New Images - Caricature Illustration Freelance Job

Hi,

I am looking for someone to make humorous images for a political, musical video that will be placed on youtube. They will be still images that will tell the story of the song lyrics.
Images must be copyright free, thus they must be original or manipulated enough that they fall under fair use laws. I don't have a large budget for this project, therefore the designer would have to be someone who is talented enough that the images are quickly created without being labor intensive. The figures can either be complete caricature or caricature bodies with photographed heads attached from photos I will provide.

I would like to see the artists style of work, so please provide info in your bid where I might see your work. This project is Republican/Conservative in nature, therefore if your political views differ and would affect your ability to do a great job, please do not bid on this particular project. This is a work for hire project. I retain all copyrights, but will be glad to acknowledge you as the artist at the end of the video.
I can also provide the file for the song so the artist gets a good idea of images!

Thanks a lot! I look forward to working with the artist.

I am currently in the process of writing a children's book that will be based on 5 characters (The Rainbow Kids) that teach the importance of eating a variety of colourful fruits and vegetables, using a rainbow as a guide. The main character will be a little boy who does not like to eat fruits and vegetables, he appears sallow and doesn't have much energy to run around and play or pay attention in school. The five Rainbow Kids will have rosy cheeks and have lots of energy to grow, learn and play! The Rainbow Kids will consist of 3 Girls and 2 Boys. I think it would be great to have a different nationalities presented through the kids. A red head with green eyes and freakles, a blond with blue eyes, a brunette, an asian, and darker skinned child. Each of the rainbow kids will wear an outfit that is entirely one colour Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and a bluish purple. These characters will be the basis of an entire brand of products!

I have a general plot outline already and am working on the dialogue! The book length will be 12 double sided pages. I will also need the book cover illustrated. I am looking for someone who will bring these characters and their surrounding to life! This book will be geared towards kids age 3-6yrs. I would like lots of happy colours and cute details in the background. I have some illustrations that I can send to show examples of the look and feel I want.

I would like to work with someone who is fun, positive, loves to draw, and is open to feedback and suggestions. I would like to have the book ready for sale in February of 2010 if possible. I would be very happy to promote the artist of our illustrations in every way possible :)

Looking forward to hearing from you!
